This song is about how fragile any species can become if they engage in ruthless killings. The lyrics describe an entity expressing some remorse over their brutality. Quote: "If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one"...tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away..." Steel refers to a knife, and stains to blood stains. "To clinch a lifetime's argument", implies that there are those among them who don't agree with their practices.
